I attached a 5 overhang awning with kickers using 3 4 thd rod embedded in hilti 270 in 12 concrete wall. Make sure the hardware you use is tight and that your awning does not wiggle around. Depending on your brand of awning you will use either a large bolt or a screw to attach the awning into the brackets.
