Attic Draftstop Access Door Type R302

The 2010 crc r302 12 provides requirements for draftstops at floor ceiling assemblies.

24 x 60 36 x 48. Additional sizes available call for more information. S stainless steel type 304. Under the 2010 crc is attic draftstopping required under cbc 717 4 sfr attic areas 3000 sf would require it.

As per ul standards once the installation is complete and the provided springs installed this door will be self. Rough opening is door size 1 4 inch minimum. 24 x 48 36 x 36. It comes with a 1 flange for an easy flush installation on any type of surface material.

The only place i can see where attic draftstops are referenced in the crc is at section r302 3 for two family dwellings. As per ul standards once the installation is complete and the provided springs installed this door will be self closing and self locking. This self closing and self latching access door allows for access from both sides of the door. But not under crc.

Openings in the partitions shall be protected by self closing doors with automatic latches constructed as required for the partitions. Babcock davis warrants all access doors to be free from manufacturing defects in materials factory finishes and workmanship for a period of one 1 year from the date of shipment. 718 4 2 groups r 1 and r 2 draftstopping shall be provided in attics mansards overhangs or other concealed roof spaces of group r 2 buildings with three or more dwelling units and in all group r 1 buildings. The drd access door is not insulated.

R302 12 1 materials draftstopping materials shall be not less than 1 2 inch 12 7 mm gypsum board 3 8 inch 9 5 mm wood structural panels or other approved materials adequately supported. Floor framing is constructed of truss type open web or perforated members.
